Editing by Gabriel Rodriguez

Copyediting, line editing, proofreading. Academic writing. Made simpler here.

About me.

My name is Gabriel Rodriguez, and I provide editorial services to academic publishers, students and faculty, independent academics, and more—anyone in the process of getting their work ready for publication.

I copyedit the International Journal of American Linguistics for the University of Chicago Press, and I am on the list of approved freelancers for Westchester Publishing. I also do work for individual clients and as a contract fact-checker for the Center of Applied Linguistics. I received an M.A. in Language & Communication (sociolinguistics) from Georgetown University, and a B.A. in linguistics from the University of Michigan.

I am from Michigan, born and raised, although I loved living in Washington, D.C. I currently live in Rockford, Michigan, a small suburban town on the dam of the Rogue River.

I also work as a freelance writer—I’ve published articles in Jacobin Magazine and the newsletter of the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA). I have written a novel, and I sit on the EFA’s Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Transformation Committee (EDIT).

I want to help you meet your editorial needs while making sure that what you have to say is conveyed as you meant it and in your own voice. Please contact me if you’d like to start discussing what kind of editing you’re looking for.
